Can I Appeal a CPS Judge’s Decision?

When a juvenile court makes a decision that affects your parental rights, you may have the right to appeal. Not every ruling is appealable, but many final orders — including removal, disposition, and termination — can be reviewed by the Court of Appeal. An appeal examines whether the judge followed the law and whether the evidence supported the decision. It is not a new trial, and no new evidence is allowed. I review your orders and transcripts to determine whether you have viable grounds for appeal. If the court made a legal error, an appeal may be your path to correcting it.
