One seldomly used strategy at the Juvenile Dependency Court's Disposition Hearing is for the parents' attorneys to request Informal Supervision. Under Welfare and Institutions Code section 360, the Juvenile Dependency Court Judge can choose not to make your kids "dependents" but rather place your family under the social worker's supervision and order that services be provided to the family.
