Guide to Dependency Court – For Parents

Twelve Month Review Hearing (Welfare and Institutions Code Section 366.21(f))

Posted by Michelle Stewart | Feb 13, 2026 | 0 Comments

If your kids are not returned at the Six-Month Review Hearing and the Juvenile Court Judge continues your Family Reunification services, the Judge must then schedule your case for further review for a 12-Month Review Hearing.

The Twelve-Month Review Hearing is also called the Permanency Hearing because the Judge must decide the permanent plan for the child to include reunification with a parent or establishing a permanent placement outside the home.
