What is Informal Supervision?

Informal Supervision under WIC §301allows a CPS social worker to offer the Parents and families “services” instead of filing a Petition and having a full blown Juvenile Dependency case. That is, the goal of Informal Supervision is to solve or fix the problems that led to the allegations of child abuse or neglect against the Parents without the Juvenile Dependency Court Judge taking formal Jurisdiction of your case. Informal Supervision usually lasts 6 months but can be extended to a year.
